Special Districts and Regional Parks are working with the State Department of Dam Safety to move forward on the Lake Gregory Dam project. A plan is in place to stabilize the dam and implement a “valve release system” that will lower the lake by 50 percent in 7 days in case of an emergency. The work will make the dam seismically safe. The county saved up to $1 million by finding the inlet valve free of debris and muck which means the work can move forward without first having to clear the inlet valve.
