  1. Your dogs are cold and pathetic looking. Shame on the person making decisions, namely the person in charge. You need to check your ego and open your. Heart.

  2. I AS CONCERNED CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES>>BELIEVE WE HAVE FREEDOM TO SPEAK ABOUT ISSUES>>YOU HAVE ON SOCIAL MEDIA>>DOG SHELTER ABUSE OF ANIMALS,COMPLETELY HEALTHY DOGS ARE BEING KILLED>>ANIMALS LEFT IN CONDITIONS WHERE THE CONTRACT KENNEL COUGH>>FATAL IF NOT MEDICATED>>ANIMALS NOT BEING SOCIALIZED>>NOT ALLOWING VOLUNTEERS TO COME IN AND HELP WITH WORK OVERLOAD>>SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE MANAGEMENT OF THIS FACILITY>>>SHELTER ANIMALS SHOULD NOT BE KILLED FOR PURPOSE OF JUST KILLING THEM??? WHATS WRONG HERE??YOUR THE BIGGEST COUNTY IN CALIFORNIA>>WITH MOST RESOURCES>>PLEASE FOR THESE ANIMALS I”M TRYING TO BE THEIR VOICE>>PLEASE FIND OUT WHAT’S THE PROBLEM AND GET IT FIXED!! THANK YOU FOR READING MY REQUEST!

  3. I do wish you cared enough about the poor animals in SBC. The director seems to be on a power trip. Not allowing volunteers help the animals. Won’t let them have the blankets that have been donated to help keep them warm. This shelter doesn’t have a great reputation to begin with. And it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. SURE HOPE YOU NEVER HAVE TO SLEEP ON A COLD FLOOR. SOME OF THE ANIMALS ARE GETTING SICK ALSO. Do you even care??? If you do prove it. Get a nonprofit organization to run your shelters and they will be ran beautifully.

  4. Please look into the shelter and the current person manager as he is fix to care for these animals , the complaints can no longer be ignored. We people want someone wit compassion , these animals deserve better treatment. If need be we will take this higher.

  5. Hi I’m contacting you about the treatment of the animals in the shelter in San Bernadino. I just saw a post/video on social media of a shivering cold dog. Apparently the manager doesn’t allow blankets or towels in the kennels and the animals are clearly freezing! People even donate and this manager doesn’t let the dogs have them because they “should be warm.” Clearly this isn’t the case. Please reconsider and let these animals be warm. This particular post has already been shared and seen by many people in your county and all over the country. It’s sad you deprive these poor animals of blankets because they already are scared, frightened, and homeless. Please reconsider.

    Thank you,
    Emily

  6. Devore Animal Shelter……..WHILE EVERYONE IS STUFFING THEIR FACES FOR THANKSGIVING THE POOR ANIMALS AT THIS SHELTER ARE FREEZING BECAUSE THE PERSON IN CHARGE IS AN IDIOT……HE WONT PUT ANY BLANKETS IN THE COLD KENNELS TO HELP KEEP THEM WARM…..

  7. Please allow the animals in your shelter to use the blankets and towels that have been donated for that purpose. Your shelter manager will not allow this. This is obviously a bad person on a power trip. He’s the total opposite of the type of person to run a shelter. Is he related to someone in power? This story is all over facebook, and is going viral around the world. I’d change some things, if I were you. The people in rescue WILL NOT put up with this mistreatment of animals. We are watching. We are many.

  8. Hello
As I’m sure you are aware, there is a post on social media about your shelter animals being neglected of blankets to keep warm. I’m hoping this is a misunderstanding and not the case. I would like to ask that you kindly respond to this allegation with proof that these animals have blankets or will start to be given towels/blankets immediately. If a response is not published, we will contact the location news station and ask that they investigate the matter to ensure the well being of these animals.
If you would like to reach me, you can do so via the email address I have provided.
Thank you and I look forward to your timely response to this very concerning matter.

    Best,
    Corrie

  9. The Devore shelter in San Bernadino ca has a manager that needs to be supervised !! he’s not doing his job and the animals are suffering for it! DO something!!

  10. I sincerely feel that the Manager of the Devore animal shelter should be fired for being guilty of riding high on a power trip and allowing the dogs in the kennels to shiver and freeze when there are available blankets donated to keep them warm. I think it’s horrendous abuse and unacceptable!!!

  11. To not allow warm rugs or blankets in cold shelter stalls is inhumane, please reconsider and tell Doug to allow contributions of warm bedding for cold animals

    1. Thank you for contacting the County of San Bernardino regarding your concerns surrounding the care of homeless pets housed at the County’s animal shelter facility located in Devore. This facility maintains animals in a temperature controlled environment and utilizes both radiant overhead and subfloor heating to maintain the animals in warm temperature controlled kennels. The County’s animal shelter facility accepts both towels and blankets and provides bedding for special needs animals such as nursing mothers and their young. Animals housed in kennels also have elevated resting platforms, so the animal can rest above the heated floor surface if the animal desires. In addition, this facility heats the kennels and buildings with a combination of propane and electric heating elements and has a back-up generator in place to ensure heating is provided even during times in which a power outage may occur. The County appreciates this opportunity to clarify any inaccurate statements which may be circulating on social media and we hope you will encourage others to consider adopting a homeless pet from one of the County’s animal shelter facilities.
