The Code Enforcement Division recently organized a community clean-up event in Newberry Springs, exemplifying their commitment to enhancing the local environment. Collaborating with residents, the division strategically positioned large roll-off trash bins in a central location for easy access, generously provided by San Bernardino County’s Solid Waste Management Division. These bins served as a convenient disposal option for bulky items.

Code Enforcement supervisor Guillermo Morales emphasized, “Our community clean-up events make it easier for residents to dispose of accumulated trash and bulky items, helping prevent illegal dumping. We organize such events in various unincorporated communities within the county.”

In addition to the roll-off bins, the event provided valuable services like e-waste disposal and waste tire collection, all free of charge to residents. The Code Enforcement team, consisting of five officers, not only directed traffic but also assisted community members in unloading their vehicles. Throughout the day, their attentive service benefited 60 residents, with 25 individuals responsibly disposing of electronic waste at the e-waste truck.

The impact of the event was evident, concluding with two full roll-off bins and another at a quarter capacity. Additionally, the successful collection of a roll-off bin filled with waste tires highlighted the community’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The Land Use Services Code Enforcement Division appreciates the strong support of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, San Bernardino County Solid Waste Management Division, CalRecycle waste tire program, Urban Conservation Corps e-waste program, and community volunteers that make these events possible.
