This week’s San Bernardino County destination is Pine Knot Trail located in Big Bear Lake. This trail features oak trees, pine trees, wildflowers and amazing views of mountain ranges and Big Bear Lake. Pine Knot Trail is popular among hikers because it’s shaded nearly the entire way. Its level of difficulty is moderate, making it accessible for most hikers.
Pine Knot Trail is approximately 6.9 miles, which could take a little over three hours to complete. During your journey, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the serenity of nature and view wildlife in their habitat. In addition to hiking, Pine Knot Trail is also great for mountain biking, running and horseback riding. Leashed dogs are also welcome.
It’s important to be mindful of weather conditions before you visit. Please wear comfortable shoes and take plenty of water. The trail also includes parking, restroom access and picnic tables. For more information, please visit the Forest Service website.
