The San Bernardino County Public Defender will hold a Mobile Defense Program event in Barstow on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the Barstow Church of God in Christ, 1375 Bishop Nathaniel Jones Jr. Way. The Mobile Defense Program is dedicated to bringing equitable access to justice to all San Bernardino County residents by providing free legal assistance services and remote access to the San Bernardino Superior Court.
Services at the event will include record-clearing assistance, modifying misdemeanor summary probation, re-enrollment in court-required classes and resolving outstanding fines. These services provided by the Public Defender in partnership with San Bernardino Superior Court aim to help individuals from San Bernardino County clear their record and provide an opportunity to get back on track.
San Bernardino Superior Court will also offer self-help assistance for a variety of legal matters, including family law, child support, guardianship, landlord/tenant issues and small claims court procedures. In addition, GoGo Barstow, High Desert Black Worker Center, Reimagining Our Communities and other High Desert community partners will be onsite to provide additional resources.
Registration is encouraged prior to the event to ensure that assistance can be provided to those seeking relief.
