Established in 1946, Pioneertown, located near Yucca Valley, is known as a prime filming location and tourist destination, offering an 1880s-themed experience with its Old West style buildings. More than 50 films and television productions were shot in Pioneertown between the 1940s and 1950s. Some of those productions include television shows produced by American actor Gene Autry as well as “The Cisco Kid” and “The Adventures of Judge Roy Bean.” Today, Pioneertown offers a variety of retail stores, dining options, campsites and more.
