The San Bernardino County Department of Public Health is launching a new Animal Incident Tracker, a tool designed to improve public safety and streamline responses to animal-related incidents across the county.
This system allows residents to report animal encounters, including stray, deceased or loose animals. By centralizing reports, the tracker enables Animal Care to respond more efficiently, identify trends and allocate resources where they are needed most.
“The Animal Incident Tracker is a significant step forward in protecting both the community and animals,” said Josh Dugas, director of Public Health. “By leveraging real-time data, we can take proactive measures to prevent incidents and ensure a safer environment for everyone.”
Key benefits of the tracker include:
- Improved response times – The system helps Animal Care monitor trends and respond efficiently.
- Community engagement – Residents can easily report concerns through an online platform, enhancing communication between the public and officials.
- Data-driven prevention – The tool helps identify hotspots for animal concerns in the community, allowing for targeted intervention.
