
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has announced it is replacing My HealtheVet and the Department of Defense (DS) login services with Login.gov and ID.me to access benefits on their website and mobile applications.
Creating an account with Login.gov or ID.me will give you access to all the same information and services you currently use.
Important dates:
- March 4, 2025 – VA officially removed the option to sign-in with a My HealtheVet user ID and password. You must sign-in using Login.gov or ID.me.
- Sept. 30, 2025 – VA will remove the option to sign-in with a DS Logon username and password. You must sign-in using Login.gov or ID.me.
New sign-in options:
Veterans must create an account today using one of the following secure sign-in methods to access their benefits online at VA.gov:
- Login.gov is a government-wide authentication service providing a single sign-in for multiple federal agency websites and applications.
- ID.me is a verified digital identity service used by the VA for secure access.
