We would like to thank Heather Hill of Redlands for submitting fantastic photos of her favorite San Bernardino County destination.

If you’re seeking some quiet time in nature, head over to the San Gorgonio Wilderness. Start at the South Fork Trail off of Jenks Lake Road in Angelus Oaks, then make your way through the trail towards Poopout Hill. Continue on the trail for another mile until you reach the south fork of the Santa Ana River. Once you reach the Santa Ana River on the South Fork Trail, you can enjoy scenic views and listen to the sounds of the forest, which may include woodpeckers, chickadees, hawks and squirrels. It’s also a great spot for capturing photos.

Please note, a Wilderness Permit may be required if you’re planning to hike beyond Poopout Hill. This can be obtained from the San Bernardino National Forest.
