ARMC’s free 5k Walk/Run provides fitness and fun

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is holding its annual 5k Walk/Run and Health Expo on Saturday, May 31, at 400 N. Pepper Ave. in Colton. The Walk/Run is a community outreach event designed to raise interest in regular physical exercise. Did you know nearly 70 percent of adults in our county struggle with weight? It is time to lace up those sneakers and step into action! Check out all the fun in the video www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPV31mT5hso!
ARMC conducts many activities to improve the health of our community including a weekly Farmers Market held on Wednesdays in front of the hospital, a wellness app that encourages physical and mental health, and healthy food offerings in our hospital cafeteria. A sedentary lifestyle is a risk factor for many health problems. Since overweight children are more likely to become overweight or obese adults, encouraging a healthy body weight can have positive impacts on health. For more information on maintaining a healthy weight, please visit this link. Save the date to make a healthy impact on your family’s life!

Whether you’re a runner or walker just looking for a lively stroll, everyone is welcome. The 3.1-mile route kicks off at ARMC and weaves through the streets east of the medical center. The race starts at 8 a.m. sharp.
As you walk or run, you’ll soak up the positive vibes, support and shared passion for health. But wait, there is more! Our Health Expo is brimming with information on nutrition, wellness and health and health screenings. Discover how small changes can lead to big health gains! ARMC is on a mission to make fitness accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Let’s turn healthy habits into a way of life! Together, we can create a ripple effect of wellness throughout our community.
Be an early bird—come early to the event to get a cool T-shirt and prime parking. And don’t forget, there’s an awards ceremony waiting for you as you cross the finish line.
