We would like to thank Heidi Wilson of Yucaipa for submitting incredible photos of her favorite San Bernardino County destination.

The Redlands Bowl is a historic landmark that has hosted the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival for more than a century. Its history dates back to the King of Spain in 1769 (Charles III). In 1848, ownership of the land passed through Mexico to the United States. After the land was acquired by the U.S., it was eventually awarded to Jose Del Carmen Lugo, a major landowner, and then to Albert Smiley, a pivotal figure in the Redlands community. Finally, the city obtained ownership in 1898.

In 1924, Grace Stewart Mullen, founder of the Redlands Community Music Association, introduced the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival, which is known for hosting world-class concerts at no cost. The Summer Music Festival continues to be the longest-running free concert series in the country.
