San Bernardino County’s Department of Public Health is hitting the road with a fleet of mobile units designed to deliver essential health and animal care services directly to the community.
These mobile units help bridge the gap in access for residents in remote and underserved areas by offering:
Mobile Medical, Dental, and Hybrid Units: Three RVs equipped to provide medical exams, dental care (including X-rays) and lab collection services. One hybrid unit is permanently stationed to serve Needles and Havasu Landing.
Wellness on Wheels (WOW) Van: Free walk-in testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections including HIV and hepatitis C, plus health education and referrals to care.
Animal Care Mobile Services: Pet care brought to unincorporated areas with spay/neuter services, microchipping, vaccinations, dog licensing and pet owner resources.
“Our mobile units reflect our commitment to bringing health and wellness directly to the people,” said Public Health Director Joshua Dugas. “We’re not waiting for communities to come to us—we’re meeting them where they are, with the care they need.”
This mobile fleet reflects the county’s commitment to making care more convenient, compassionate and community-based—meeting residents where they are.
