On Thursday, Oct. 9, the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Foundation will hold its 11th Annual Gala and Awards Dinner to raise funds for ARMC’s Disaster and Emergency Response Program that is dedicated to ensuring ARMC is fully equipped to handle disasters in San Bernardino County.

Events such as mass casualty incidents demand a robust logistical and infrastructural response. The ARMC team must have the right equipment and resources to fulfill these essential needs.

ARMC houses a specialized Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT) that responds to emergencies outside the hospital, the first team of its kind in the region. HERT responds to scenarios that involve multiple injured patients (i.e., mass shootings, multi-vehicle accidents, bus crashes and trapped victims). This team is comprised of a trauma surgeon, a trauma nurse and an emergency department physician.

The Gala will also honor ARMC’s employees and announce the hospital’s Physician of the Year, Employee of the Year, Nurse of the Year, and Nurse Leader of the Year.

The ARMC Foundation is a recognized 501(c)(3) independent public charity that raises funds and contributions to support ARMC’s mission in serving the San Bernardino County community. Through events such as the Annual Gala and the generous contributions of donors, ARMC can expand the margin of care delivered to its patients and develop further initiatives to support underserved populations.
