From story time giggles to late-night research sessions, every library visit tells a story — and the San Bernardino County Library wants to hear yours! As part of the statewide Every Story Counts initiative, happening Jan. 25–31, we’re inviting county residents to share their experiences, memories and favorite moments at their local library branches.
Libraries are more than just books; they’re hubs of creativity, learning and community. California is home to 188 library jurisdictions and 1,127 libraries, each serving as a trusted source of information and essential services.
“County Library staff work hard to provide our community with a wide range of programs and services,” said County Librarian Melanie Orosco. “Now we want to hear from our community directly — how and why you use the library, and what makes it special to you.”
“Every Story Counts helps us capture the incredible variety of activities happening in libraries across California,” said California State Librarian Greg Lucas. “It’s a chance to showcase the value of public libraries and the tremendous return on investment they provide.”
During the week of Jan. 25-31, we invite our patrons to capture and share photos and videos of themselves while engaging in our programs and services — which in turn will tell your own story. We want to hear how you’re:
- Bringing your child to story time
- Using the library computers
- Checking out items from books to sewing machines
- Asking a question at the reference desk
- Participating in a workshop, class or program
Along with libraries across the state, The County Library values your insight and feedback on the programs and services that make our library a vital part of the community.
We invite you to share your story and help us celebrate your library experience by filling out our survey.
Share your story and help us show California just how much libraries matter!
