San Bernardino County’s Land Use Services Department is launching the second round of community presentations for Assembly Bill 98 truck routes, the state’s regulatory framework for logistics and warehouse development. The county completed an initial outreach phase in 2025 in conjunction with Board of Supervisors district offices and community groups. That round focused on proposed truck routes and gathering input from the community. This new series of meetings shifts toward the practical steps required for implementation and the enforcement process that will accompany the law.
AB 98 establishes statewide standards for truck routes that funnel truck traffic away from homes, schools and other sensitive areas as much as possible. With planning efforts moving forward, the Land Use Services Department is preparing for on-the-ground implementation. The presentations will cover expected signage installation, potential road improvements and continued outreach to ensure that community members, businesses and truck drivers are informed. Staff also will outline how early issues will be monitored and addressed during the rollout.
The meetings will also cover the enforcement structure associated with AB 98, including coordination among enforcement agencies and the role of the California Highway Patrol. The department will provide information on how residents and businesses can report concerns and will address current challenges, along with opportunities for collaboration to support compliance and reduce community impacts.
The first three meetings in this series will take place in April and early May, with sessions scheduled in Bloomington, Muscoy/San Bernardino and Devore. Some meetings will be held virtually, while others will offer hybrid participation options.
