The Land Use Services department has launched a GIS‑powered Social Pinpoint map to gather precise, location‑based feedback on truck‑route impacts as part of its outreach efforts for Assembly Bill 98.

San Bernardino County Land Use Services is launching a new Social Pinpoint Map to collect community input related to Assembly Bill 98 (AB 98). The state law sets new standards for heavy‑duty truck routes near homes, schools and other sensitive locations. The map is part of the county’s outreach effort to gather location‑based feedback on safety, noise, parking and congestion concerns related to truck activity.

Land Use Services is introducing this technology‑driven platform to make public input easier and more precise. The interactive mapping tool is powered by a geographic information system, or GIS. Residents can drop pins at specific locations, add comments and filter by category to see where other concerns have been reported. The system captures exact geospatial coordinates and organizes all feedback into a centralized dashboard for county staff.  This improves data accuracy and supports decision‑making in the implementation and enforcement of AB 98.

All submissions will be compiled and formally reviewed in June, with additional periodic reviews to follow. Residents can also submit non‑map feedback and sign up for project updates using the tool.

Land Use Services developed this outreach effort with San Bernardino County Public Works Department and Supervisorial District offices. The goal is to help residents understand AB 98 and provide meaningful public comment. The initiative is part of a broader effort to expand community engagement in planning, permitting and code enforcement activities across the county.
