We would like to thank Gary Mumaw of Rancho Cucamonga for submitting spectacular images of Joshua Tree National Park.
The park is about 90 minutes from San Bernardino. It is a popular destination for people who enjoy nature, rock climbing, photography and other outdoor activities. Driving through the park can feel like you are in another world with the Joshua trees and unique rock formations.
The best time to visit is when temperatures are cooler. If you visit in the summer, going at night helps you avoid the heat and also gives you a clear view of the stars and the Milky Way. It is recommended to arrive with a full tank of gas and plenty of water. You can also stop at a visitor center or park store to pick up a map and ask rangers about popular areas to explore.
