We would like to thank Harper Maverick-Gamboa of Twentynine Palms for sharing an incredible photo of a unique site in Joshua Tree.
Transmission is an art installation made from steel and reinforced concrete, mosaiced with a dichroic glass mirror that changes color depending on where you stand. The art installation, which stands approximately 28 feet tall, represents the hands and head of a goddess who is transmitting energy and light to those who pass through. The sculpture features a suspended stainless steel crescent moon in each hand along with a crescent moon shaped opening in her forehead.
Transmission was created by artist Daniel Popper and commissioned by Los Angeles-based developer and interior designer Morgan Brown. Brown and Popper collaborated on the concept. The artwork reminds the viewer to always strive to promote peace, love and unity. Transmission is located at 2015 Sunfair Road in Joshua Tree.
