Planes of Fame Air Museum will host numerous Junior Aviator Day activities and live demos on Saturday, July 1 at Chino Airport. Learn more about the history of aviation through special presentations in the Hangar Talk series, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Malone Hangar, focusing on Ed Heinemann and his 60-year career at Douglas Aircraft and the SBD Dauntless aircraft.

At 12:15 p.m., the flying demonstration of the historic WWII SBD-5 Dauntless aircraft will take to the skies.

For the Junior Aviators, Jim Barry of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will present an introduction to aviation and the wonders of flight.

Afterwards, the EAA Young Eagles will be on-hand to provide a limited number of free introductory flights flown by volunteer qualified pilots for kids ages 8 to 17, on a first come, first served basis. The Young Eagles program of the EAA is the only program of its kind, with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids into the world of aviation.

Since its launch in 1992, more than 2.3 million young people have enjoyed these free introductory flights through Young Eagles. Many of these have gone on to earn their wings or pursue a career in aviation.
