Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County (CAPSBC) is offering eligible San Bernardino County households assistance with their water and/or wastewater bills. Applications must be submitted by Dec. 15, 2023.
The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) is a federally-funded program offering eligible households a one-time payment, up to $15,000, to pay for current or past-due water/wastewater bills accrued over any timeframe with required documents.
Some qualifications for LIHWAP include:
- Total household gross income at or below 60 percent of the state median income (Visit LIHWAP | Water Assistance (capsbc.org) for income guidelines), or a household member is a current recipient of CalFresh or California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs).
- You receive service from a participating community water system or wastewater treatment provider. Visit www.capsbc.org/lihwap for a list of participating providers.
