The Department of Aging and Adult Services – Public Guardian (DAAS-PG) is the designated Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for San Bernardino County and is dedicated to addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by older adults and individuals with disabilities in our community.
Established to ensure older adults and individuals with disabilities improve or maintain choice, independence and quality of life, the AAA conducts public hearings to discuss and evaluate the needs of our community and delivers a comprehensive Area Plan to address those needs. Beginning on March 5, 2024, the AAA will conduct public hearings to discuss and set forth the goals and objectives of the 2024 to 2028 Area Plan. The plan enables DAAS-PG to receive Older Americans Act (OAA) funding, which is used to provide vital programs such as senior information and assistance, nutrition, family caregiver support, senior supportive services, transportation and legal assistance.
Area Plan discussions will address how the AAA will serve older adults, individuals with disabilities, their families and caregivers. The discussions will also include details of the services supported by OAA funding and the service levels of the Area Plan.
