The Bloomington Recreation and Park District (BRPD) gathered in Bloomington on Tuesday, Aug. 13 to celebrate the groundbreaking of the next phase in the Kessler Park Revitalization Project, known as the Dream Field Project. This significant event, led by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, marks a pivotal moment in ongoing efforts to enhance and modernize the park, promising to bring new life and vibrancy to the area.
The renovation of Kessler Park is set to revitalize the space, enhancing recreational opportunities, and fostering a deeper sense of community pride and engagement. The project includes several upgrades, such as replacing old concrete sidewalks with new concrete, vinyl-coated chain-link fencing, safety mesh, additional shade structures, new dugouts, a scoreboard and storage sheds. Additionally, the field will be equipped with brand new artificial turf, irrigation and drainage systems, ensuring that it remains in top condition year-round.
The project has been made possible through funding from the Bloomington Community Benefit/Improvement Reserve, the American Rescue Plan Act, and contributions from the Fifth District Supervisor, Joe Baca Jr.. BRPD has already seen success with the addition of Ayala Park and recent improvements at Kessler Park, and the community eagerly anticipates the completion of the Dream Field Project.
For updates on the project and upcoming events at Kessler Park, residents can stay connected through the San Bernardino County Special Districts website.
