This week’s San Bernardino County destination is Main Street in Barstow.
Main Street is part of Route 66, the first nationally designated highway system linking Chicago to Los Angeles County. Established in 1926, travelers on Route 66 would pass through San Bernardino County on their way to Santa Monica.
Main Street features historic motels, mining areas, museums, a Harvey House and murals that depict the city’s history. Barstow is also home to the oldest Del Taco restaurant and to Rosita’s Restaurant, founded in 1948 by Rosa Griego, a community icon. Stop by Main Street and relive history!
