In an effort to provide foster children with the same access to growth and development experiences as children who are not in the child welfare system, Children and Family Services (CFS) has used state funding to offer the CFS Youth Enrichment and Exploration Program (YEEP). This year-round program provides financial support to children and youth in foster care to pay for extracurricular activities, including sports team memberships, music or art classes, cultural enrichment activities and much more.

This summer, as part of this program and in collaboration with Children’s Network, CFS sent nearly 300 foster youth and eligible resource family members to camps across Southern California at no cost to caregivers. This opportunity helps youth develop valuable teamwork and leadership skills, while enjoying outdoor adventures. Camp locations included the San Gorgonio mountains, Lake Castaic, Oak Glen, Fawnskin, Big Bear and Catalina. By investing in programs like YEEP, CFS aims to provide foster youth with enriching opportunities that build confidence, support growth and leave a positive impact, guiding them toward a successful future.
