High School Voter Education Weeks: Encouraging students to get involved in their community

*Registrar of Voters promotes High School Voter Education Weeks so high school students can be #VoteReady for the 2026 Primary Election.*

High School Voter Education Weeks are underway, continuing through April 25. This initiative, held during the last two weeks of April and September each year, encourages high schools to educate students about their important role in our democracy. Young people, as future voters, have the power to influence the political landscape, and this event offers valuable opportunities to promote informed and engaged participation in the electoral process.

Here’s how students and the community can get involved and make an impact:

Spread the Word – Students can help promote voter education by sharing what they learn with their peers. Whether it’s encouraging others to register or hosting discussions about the importance of voting, students can visit Elections.SBCounty.gov/hsvewinformation/ to find more information and spread the word!

Promote Voter Registration and Pre-Registration – A major component of High School Voter Education Weeks is helping students to register or pre-register. Community members can also partner with high schools to host voter registration drives. How the Public Can Get Involved – Encourage civic engagement among teens by sharing educational resources and spreading awareness about the voting process.
