San Bernardino County Museum launches new vlog series, Great Things Behind the Scenes.

The San Bernardino County Museum (SBCM) is inviting the public to step beyond the gallery walls with the launch of its exciting new vlog series, Great Things Behind the Scenes. This digital series offers a rare peek into the inner workings of the museum, showcasing the untold stories, dedicated people and intricate processes that bring exhibitions and collections to life.

Each post in the series will explore a different behind-the-scenes elementโ€”from the delicate conservation of historical artifacts to the creative sparks behind exhibition design. Readers will meet curators, educators and volunteers all of whom play a vital role in preserving and sharing the museumโ€™s rich legacy.

โ€œGreat Things Behind the Scenes is our way of welcoming the community into the heart of our work at the museum,โ€ said Chief Deputy Tamara Serrao-Leiva. โ€œBecoming a museum curator is no easy pathโ€”it takes years of dedicated study, research, and publication. For many of us, this work is more than a career; itโ€™s a calling weโ€™re proud to pursue. Through this series, we hope to inspire the next generation of scientists by showing not just what we do, but who we areโ€”people who may look like them and are actively shaping the world. Itโ€™s our way of pulling back the curtain to reveal the passion, precision, and collaboration that makes every museum experience possible. This vlog also gives us a chance to share that story in a deeper, more personal wayโ€”beyond the gallery walls.โ€

Great Things Behind the Scenes is now live on SBCMโ€™s YouTube channel, with new posts published regularly. Visitors are encouraged to explore, subscribe and join the conversation. Future installments will include everything from digitization projects to the logistics of installing large-scale exhibits.

SBCM is located at 2024 Orange Tree Lane, at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $10 (adult), $8 (military or senior), $7 (student), and $5 (child ages 6 to 12). Children five and under and museum foundation members are admitted free. Parking is free and the museum is accessible to people with disabilities.
