We would like to thank Celeste Cordova of Yucaipa for submitting spectacular photos of her favorite San Bernardino County destination.
Seven Oaks Dam, located in Highland, is an important landmark in San Bernardino County and is one of the largest earthen dams in the United States. It plays a critical role in the Santa Ana River flood control system, protecting downstream communities from potential flood hazards. Additionally, FEMA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers utilize Seven Oaks Dam to support emergency response and flood control management efforts.
Although Seven Oaks Dam is not open for general visitation, guided tours are available through the San Bernardino County Flood Control District from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the last Thursday of the month, except for November and December (limit of 28 attendees). Those who are interested may request a tour by calling 909-387-8128.
