Join Regional Parks for the 4th annual Family Fish & Wildlife Festival at Prado Regional Park on Saturday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The festival is a family-friendly event that provides hands-on fishing workshops with fishing supplies provided, live demonstrations, animal exhibits, food booths, live music and more.

Activities include archery lessons, games, face painting, arts & crafts, biking and more.

We encourage eventgoers to bring their own chairs, food and snacks and spend the day with us. Food trucks will be on-site for hungry appetites as well.

All ages are welcome! Leashed pets are welcome too!

Park admission is $15 per vehicle and free for those camping with us. Camping reservations can be made online at www.sbcountyparks.com.

County shelters celebrate California Adopt-a-Pet with free adoptions

Celebrate California Adopt-a-Pet Day with San Bernardino County Animal Care!

On Saturday, June 7, San Bernardino County’s animal shelters in Big Bear and Devore will join more than 150 shelters across California in offering fee-waived adoptions as part of the second annual California Adopt-a-Pet Day. The event is hosted by the California Animal Welfare Association (CalAnimals), the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SF SPCA), and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). This year’s goal is to place 5,000 pets into loving homes statewide.

The Devore Animal Shelter will host a special celebration featuring free pet adoptions all day, a photo booth, vendor and resource tables (10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.), and Kona Ice available for purchase—with free treats for the first 30 adopters (11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.).

All pet adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip and most vaccines.

Both Devore and Big Bear animal shelters are open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on June 7.

At the event, we will be available to help you open a new case, make case modifications, learn how to qualify for the debt reduction program, and answer case-specific questions.

Get ready, Lytle Creek! Our next Neighborhood Clean Up is just around the corner, and we need YOU! Let’s team up to keep our community beautiful and green. We’ll be picking up litter, making a real difference, and having some fun while we’re at it!

San Bernardino County Code Enforcement and the Solid Waste Management Division
will be providing bulky trash collection containers for the FREE disposal of accumulated trash, e-waste, tires, and on-site confidential document shredding for unincorporated residents only. No business materials will be accepted. Free disposal services will end at noon or when the equipment is full.

  • This program is limited to residents of unincorporated county areas.
  • We cannot accept commercial or industrial waste from businesses. Please remember to safely secure and properly cover your loads prior to traveling to the event.
  • If you are bringing waste tires, please limit your load to a maximum of nine tires. (State law prohibits hauling of more than nine tires, unless an exemption is granted. Please call us for more information.) Tires on rims WILL be accepted.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU ARE REQUIRED TO UNLOAD YOUR OWN WASTE MATERIALS.

If you have oversized, loose or hard-to-handle loads, you may be turned away to dispose of your waste materials at your own expense.

WE WILL ACCEPT household trash, bulky items, green waste and vehicle tires, (we DO NOT accept concrete).

The Urban Conservation Corps will be present to accept electronics (TVs, computer monitors, VCRs, stereos, cell phones and more)

WE CANNOT ACCEPT HAZARDOUS WASTE. This includes motor oil and oil filters, antifreeze, gasoline, drain cleaner, pesticides, fertilizers, fluorescent lights, wood preservatives, pool and hobby supplies, auto/furniture polish, paint thinners, paint products, medications or similar products.

Join San Bernardino County Animal Care and Petco Love for a free pet adoption event at Petco in Big Bear Lake on Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

San Bernardino County Animal Care is teaming up with national nonprofit Petco Love to bring adoptable pets to the Big Bear Lake Petco on Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Thanks to the Animals aRe First Fund, adoption fees are fully sponsored for this event. All qualifying adoptions include spay or neuter, microchipping and most vaccines—at no cost to the adopter.

“There’s never been a better time to adopt,” said George Harding, chief of San Bernardino County Animal Care. “Our shelters are full of incredible pets waiting for a second chance.”

The event is part of Petco Love’s ongoing mission to create a world where every shelter pet finds a loving home. Since its founding, Petco Love has helped nearly 7 million pets find families through partnerships with organizations like San Bernardino County Animal Care.

Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk Josie Gonzales partners with California Secretary of State for Apostille Pop-Up Shop

San Bernardino County offers a special one-day Apostille Event on June 25 at the Hall of Records—no cash accepted, free parking available.

Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk (ARC) Josie Gonzales is proud to announce a first-time collaboration with the California Secretary of State (SOS) to bring an Apostille Pop-Up Shop directly to county residents on Wednesday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hall of Records in San Bernardino. Free parking will be available on-site.

An apostille is an official certificate issued by the California Secretary of State that verifies the authenticity of a public document for use in foreign countries. Apostilles are commonly required for international legal proceedings, adoptions and other official matters.

This service is typically only available in person at the California Secretary of State’s offices in Los Angeles and Sacramento. Thanks to this special one-day partnership, residents of San Bernardino County can now access this vital service locally, saving time and travel.

“We are excited to bring this important service closer to our community,” said Gonzales. “This collaboration with the Secretary of State’s office allows us to better serve our residents with more accessible government services, right here in San Bernardino.”

“One of the most important aspects of my role as California’s Secretary of State is ensuring that the services we provide are accessible, efficient, and customer-friendly for everyone. A perfect example of this commitment is our innovative Apostille Pop-Up Shops program, which has been a game-changer for so many Californians,” said California Secretary of State Shirley N Weber, Ph.D., “I am proud to continue these efforts with a stop in San Bernardino County, bringing government closer to the people it serves.”

The San Bernardino County Museum is located at 2024 Orange Tree Lane, at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $10 (adult), $8 (military or senior), $7 (student), and $5 (child ages 6 to 12). Children five and under are admitted free. Museum members receive a 50% admission discount. Parking is free and the museum is accessible to people with disabilities.

The San Bernardino County Museum’s exhibits of regional, cultural and natural history and the Museum’s other exciting events and programs reflect the effort by the Board of Supervisors to achieve the Countywide Vision by celebrating arts, culture and education in the county, creating quality of life for residents and visitors.


Equestrian Center hosts Children’s Equine Education Days

The Prado Equestrian Center is hosting a unique experience for kids ages 12 and under to spend a day on the ranch learning all about horses! Kids will have a chance to learn how to groom, feed and interact with a horse.

Dates include:

  • Dec. 28

This event will be a fun introduction to horses and equestrian life for the whole family.  Children will also get to paint their own horseshoe to take home as well as a certificate of completion.

A session is $35 for two (2) hours. The Prado Park Equestrian Center (PPEC) is located inside Prado Regional Park. The Equestrian Center’s entrance is located at 16629 Johnson Ave., Chino.
