Every young person deserves the opportunity to grow, explore, and thrive. Through the Youth Enrichment and Exploration Program (YEEP), Children and Family Services (CFS) helps make that possible for youth in foster care across San Bernardino County. YEEP is a year-round program that provides financial support for youth to participate in activities that inspire creativity and boost confidence, whether that’s joining a sports team, taking music or art lessons, or engaging in cultural enrichment experiences!

“It is important for foster youth to get all the experiences that they would if they were with their families and be able to grow from that,” said CFS Director Jeany Glasgow.

This summer, CFS and Children’s Network partnered to send 562 youth to enjoy an unforgettable camp experience across Southern California. From the scenic San Gorgonio Mountains to the shores of Catalina Island, youth embraced the spirit of adventure, gained valuable life skills, built independence and created lasting memories. They had the opportunity to try several activities, such as archery, snorkeling, exploring nature and much more!

“They are trying to help us have experiences that you won’t be able to get all the time, and it’s really nice that they are giving us the opportunity to do that,” shared one youth participant when reflecting on their YEEP experience.

By investing in programs like YEEP, CFS empowers foster youth to explore new possibilities and reach their full potential.
