Several San Bernardino County facilities are illuminated green as part of Operation Green Light, a nationwide effort by the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers (NACVSO) to show support for veterans. In 2024, the Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution declaring San Bernardino County will participate in Operation Green Light in perpetuity during the week (Nov. 4-11) leading up to Veterans Day.
San Bernardino County residents, businesses and community organizations are encouraged to participate in Operation Green Light by changing one light to a green bulb. By shining a green light, we let our veterans know that they are seen, appreciated and supported.
San Bernardino County, home to more than 90,000 veterans, has made it a priority to take care of those who served our nation. During the most recent fiscal year, San Bernardino County Veterans Affairs helped veterans access over $88 million in new benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, which was the highest of any county in the state.
“By participating in Operation Green Light, we’re sending a message that San Bernardino County will always stand behind those who served,” said San Bernardino County Veterans Affairs Deputy Director Demarius Carmichael.
The county government locations listed below will be illuminated green through Nov. 11:
- Veterans Affairs Office, 222 Hospitality Ln., San Bernardino
- Veterans Affairs at the High Desert Government Center, 15900 Smoke Tree St., Hesperia
- Chairman and Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe’s District Office at the Bob Burke Government Center, 63665 29 Palms Hwy., Joshua Tree
