We are proud to present another episode of the Did You Know video series featuring Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman who shares a fun fact about San Bernardino County’s history.
Cable Airport, located in Upland, is the world’s largest family-owned public use airport. It was founded in 1945 by Dewey and Maude Cable, who bought the land for just $8,500 and built the runway themselves. Today, the airport hosts over 450 aircraft and is still run by the Cable family after several generations.
