The 2026 General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 3, and the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters encourages voters to make a plan to cast their ballot early.

Mail ballots were sent to all active registered voters beginning Monday, Oct. 5. Ballots can be returned by mail or at an official ballot drop box. Voters can also cast a ballot in person at the Registrar of Voters office, an early voting location or any polling place in San Bernardino County on Election Day.

Important dates to know

Early voting is now open at the Registrar of Voters office, 777 E. Rialto Ave., in San Bernardino. Ten additional Early Voting Locations will be available beginning Thursday, Oct. 29. On Election Day, polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The voter registration deadline was Monday, Oct. 19. Eligible residents who missed the deadline can still register and vote in person through Election Day.[LH1]

The Registrar of Voters encourages voters to mail their completed ballot by Tuesday, Oct. 27, or return it to a ballot drop box or Early Voting Location by Friday, Oct. 30, so their votes may be included in the first election night results.

Returning and tracking your ballot

No postage is required to return a mail ballot through the U.S. Postal Service. Mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before Nov. 3 and received within seven days following the election. Ballots returned to a drop box or voting location must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Voters can track their mail ballot through My Elections Gateway or sign up for the California Secretary of State’s “Where’s My Ballot?” tracking system to receive status notifications by email, text or voice call.
