The San Bernardino County Probation Department brought employees together Oct. 20 and 21 for its 2026 State of the Department, themed “Continuing the Connection.” The two-day event provided an opportunity to recognize the department’s progress, strengthen relationships among employees and look ahead to its continued service to the community.

The morning presentations featured a series of original videos showcasing the diverse programs, services and employees that support the department’s mission. The presentations offered staff a broader understanding of how administrative, institutional juvenile and adult operations work together to promote public safety and support positive change throughout San Bernardino County.

Employees also heard from keynote and motivational speaker Ryan Tillman and participated in team-building activities and breakout sessions focused on professional development, wellness and connection. These shared experiences encouraged employees from different assignments and classifications to engage with one another outside their regular work environments.

The event reinforced that the department’s success is driven by its people. Through collaboration, professionalism and a shared commitment to service, Probation employees continue moving the department’s mission forward and making a difference in communities across the county.
