Celebrate Older Americans Month in May 2025.

The Department of Aging and Adult Services – Public Guardian (DAAS-PG) wants to “Flip the Script on Aging” and celebrate the contributions of older adults during Older Americans Month (OAM).

Established in 1963, OAM is celebrated every May to recognize older Americans’ contributions, highlight aging trends, and reaffirm commitments to serving the growing older adult population in San Bernardino County.

This year’s theme, “Flip the Script on Aging,” focuses on transforming how society perceives, speaks of and approaches aging. Individuals and communities are encouraged to challenge stereotypes and dispel misconceptions.

“The month of May is about engaging with others and enhancing the mental, physical and emotional well-being of older adults so they can age safely in place,” said San Bernardino County Department of Aging and Adult Services – Public Guardian Director Sharon Nevins.
