San Bernardino County Public Works was fully prepared for last weekend’s storm, responding swiftly and effectively with no major issues across the county. All yards and zones remained fully operational, staffed and ready with equipment pre-staged to ensure fast response to rain, snow and potential mud and debris flows.

That same level of readiness continues this week. With the additional storms arriving, Public Works crews remain activated and are responding around-the-clock. Message boards, road-closure signs and K-rails are in place, and safety information continues to be shared with the public using various channels.

Last weekend, the department’s teams quickly cleared mud and debris that impacted Oak Glen, Forest Falls, Barstow, the High Desert and Trona. Institution Road, Swarthout Canyon and Keenbrook Road in Devore remain closed to the public as cleanup efforts continue but are open to residents and emergency vehicles.

Public Works crews and staff remain prepared for this week’s weather and any future storms, ensuring communities stay safe and informed. Road closure updates remain available on the Public Works homepage.

The public is urged to sign up for the Telephone Emergency Notification System (TENS) to receive evacuation warnings and orders and visit Prepare.SBCounty.gov for more tips and resources to stay safe this winter season.
