Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector Ensen Mason is pleased to present another riveting story of the many great county residents that have served in his position since 1853.
Wilford A. Boren was born on October 24, 1848, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and relocated to San Bernardino in 1854. In 1885, he established a grocery business, which operated until 1896. Following this, he spent two years working as a miner. In 1898, he was elected treasurer of San Bernardino County for one term. Boren passed away on December 7, 1926, and was laid to rest in Pioneer Cemetery in San Bernardino.
