San Bernardino County Regional Parks is happy to bring back the Recreation Campground Host Program at Calico Ghost Town, Mojave Narrows, Mojave River, Prado and Yucaipa Regional Parks campgrounds.

The Recreation Campground Host’s primary responsibility will be to supervise the campground area and maintain a presence in order to observe and report incidents and ensure the safety of the campers and county facilities.

The position is a temporary contracted at-will volunteer position and is not subject to any San Bernardino County employee or temporary employee compensation or benefits. However, in exchange for duties performed as a camp host, Regional Parks will provide the host with free lodging at one RV campsite for up to six months.

Volunteers are expected to work at least five days per week on a schedule that includes Friday, Saturday and Sunday up to 30 hours per week (exact schedule/hours can be worked out upon acceptance of the position). The camp host position is ongoing and applications will be accepted on a continual basis.

Interested applicants can begin the process by filling out the volunteer application. The application is a fillable PDF that can be uploaded via the website, faxed or mailed-in, or can be dropped off at any participating Regional Park throughout the county (excluding Mojave River Forks).
