A committee assigned with carrying out the voter-approved effort to determine if San Bernardino County is getting its fair share of state funding will conduct its first meeting next week.

The committee, established by the Board of Supervisors and led by Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman, will meet on Tuesday, July 11, at 2 p.m. in the County Government Center. The purpose of the committee meeting is to determine how to engage the community in the equitable state funding process.

On Nov. 8, County voters approved advisory Measure EE, which directs County elected officials to study and advocate for all options to obtain the County’s fair share of state funding.

On March 28, the board directed the County chief executive officer to research state funding and resources received by the County as compared to other similar-sized counties throughout the state and report back to the board. The board also assigned Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman as a liaison to external stakeholders to solicit input on areas where the County can further advocate for additional resources and increase state funding.
