In partnership with San Bernardino County Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman and the Public Defender’s Office, the County Workforce Development Board (WDB) hosted a successful job fair and record-clearing services event at Ontario International Airport’s iconic Terminal 1 on June 15.
Participating employers conducted 79 on-the-spot interviews and scheduled more than 200 future interviews with potential candidates for available positions within their organizations. In addition, more than 100 formerly incarcerated residents had the opportunity to meet with representatives of the Public Defender’s Office to begin the process of clearing their records while getting the resources and connections they need to secure employment.
“This career event showcased the value of partnerships between our County departments and the business community in serving the workforce and economic needs of our residents and employers. It also provided many of our residents the opportunity to get a fresh start and find career opportunities that could turn their lives around,” Supervisor Hagman said.
