California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) is a vital Human Services program aimed at providing essential aid and services to eligible needy families across all 58 counties in the state. Who Qualifies?
Generally, services are available to:
- Low-income families, where one or both parents are:
- Absent
- Unemployed
- Disabled
- Deceased
- Needy caretaker relatives
How Can I Apply?
You may apply for CalWORKs by:
- Calling (877) 410-8829 to request an application be mailed to you
- You may return it by dropping it off at an office, by mail or fax
- Completing an application at a local transitional assistance office
