On Oct. 8, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution declaring Nov. 4-11 as Green Light for Veterans to honor the individuals who have made countless sacrifices for freedom.

Join San Bernardino County, the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers (NACVSO) in Operation Green Light for Veterans and let our veterans know they are seen, appreciated and supported.

Operation Green Light for Veterans highlights the issues veterans face, and advocates for access to resources at the county, state and federal levels that veterans need to thrive.

The Commitment to Veteran Support and Outreach Act was recently reintroduced to Congress and if passed, would provide county Veterans Affairs with funding to expand, strengthen and support county Veteran Service Officers (VSOs) in meeting high caseloads for vital services to veterans, prioritizing areas with high rates of veteran suicide, Veteran Crisis Line referrals and critical VSO shortages.

The county government locations listed below will be illuminated with a green light from Nov. 4-11:

  • Veterans Affairs Office, 222 Hospitality Ln., San Bernardino
  • Veterans Affairs at the High Desert Government Center, 15900 Smoke Tree St., Hesperia
  • Chairman and Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe’s District Office at the Bob Burke Government Center, 63665 29 Palms Hwy., Joshua Tree
  • Vice Chairman and First District Supervisor Col. Paul Cook’s (Ret.) District Office, 14955 Dale Evans Pkwy., Apple Valley

  • Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman’s District Office, 14010 City Center Dr., Chino Hills
  • Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr.’s District Office at the San Bernardino County Government Center, 385 N. Arrowhead Ave., San Bernardino

Show your support for San Bernardino County’s veterans by shining your green light this November.
