Recruitment Road Trip – Drive Your Career Forward
TheRecruitment Road Trip is an initiative designed to bring HR services directly to communities across the county, including those in remote or underserved areas. By reaching diverse populations and providing essential recruitment services in a convenient, mobile format, HR connects residents to job opportunities and application support, helping increase:

- Awareness of County careers

Rapid Hire/One-Day Hiring Events
San Bernardino County’s Rapid Hire/One-Day Hiring Event initiative was developed to address critical staffing shortages by streamlining recruitment and onboarding processes. The program consolidates hiring steps into a single-day event, allowing candidates to complete the following all in one location:
- Interviews
- Conditional job offers
- Live-scan fingerprinting
- Physical scheduling
- Onboarding paperwork
Departments benefit from reduced time-to-hire, while candidates experience a seamless and engaging hiring process that keeps them committed and reduces drop-off rates.

CEHW – Position Characteristic Inventory (PCI) Catalog
The Center for Employee Health and Wellness (CEHW) developed a searchable PCI Catalog and Reference Sheet using Microsoft SharePoint to index over 3,300 Position Characteristic Inventory forms.
This data-driven system has:
- Reduced search time for documents
- Improved accuracy in processing
- Streamlined the onboarding process
Healthcare providers can now access essential information quickly, enhancing both employee assessments and the hiring experience across departments.

The Financial Wellness Fair brings valuable financial education to county employees through in-person events and online webinars. Hosted by HR’s Wellness Works Here and Salary Savings teams, this program helps employees take control of their financial futures.

Employee Management and Compensation System (EMACS)
The EMACS Development team, in collaboration with the Innovation and Technology Department (ITD), redesigned the EMACS website to improve accessibility, usability and overall efficiency. The updated site features a modern interface, streamlined navigation, and easier access to payroll checklists, calendars, forms, training materials and other key resources.
Consolidating essential tools into one user-friendly platform supports policy compliance and improves communication. The redesigned EMACS website empowers employees to manage tasks more effectively while promoting transparency and operational efficiency.
