We’re excited to launch a new video series highlighting hidden gems and innovations in San Bernardino County. In our first episode, First District Supervisor Col. Paul Cook (Ret.) showcases one of his favorite local spots.
Did you know that Elmer’s Bottle Tree Ranch near Victorville has drawn visitors from around the world? This two-acre ranch was developed in the early 2000s by Elmer Long, the son of Elmer Long Sr., who was an aviation engineer in Manhattan Beach. Long and his father were avid collectors of colorful bottles. He decided to put the bottles to use by grabbing some old metal pipe and welding tree limbs for the bottles to sit on.
Today, Elmer’s Bottle Tree Ranch features 200 trees and more than 1,000 bottles! It’s located on National Trails Highway in Oro Grande and is open to the public.
