Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) operates mobile medical clinics and mobile asthma clinics that provide a variety of services bringing health care and virtual consultations through telemedicine directly to community neighborhoods and remote areas of San Bernardino County.
Many San Bernardino County residents face multiple barriers to accessing health care services, including lack of insurance, lack of transportation and unemployment. These mobile clinics are one way that ARMC and San Bernardino County work to achieve the Countywide Vision and assist these residents with improved access to quality medical care, including:
- Mobile medical clinic: This 40-foot clinic on wheels features two fully functional private exam rooms and a health consultation and education area. Services include health screenings and immunizations; lab testing; diabetes education and care; physicals, and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses; well-child checkups and women’s services. At the mobile medical clinic, you can receive the same services as you would at a walk-in clinic.
- Asthma clinic: This mobile unit travels to 40 different school sites throughout San Bernardino County, rotating to each site every six weeks. During school hours the asthma clinic staff see patients that attend the school site as well as any child referred to them from the surrounding area. A complete evaluation, examination, care plan and extensive patient family education are completed at the time of the visit.
