Pioneertown, located near Yucca Valley, has long served as a backdrop for film and television productions. Established in 1946, Pioneertown was founded by a group of Hollywood investors, including actors Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. More than 200 films and television productions have been recorded in Pioneertown, including โ€œThe Cisco Kid,โ€ โ€œThe Gene Autry Showโ€ and more recently, an episode of the 2024 Netflix series โ€œSelling Sunset.โ€ Today, Pioneertown offers a variety of retail stores and dining options, including the legendary Pappy and Harriet’s, which hosted world-renowned artists such as Paul McCartney, Lorde and Lizzo.
