The San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office will bring its Mobile Defense Program to Hesperia on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at Abundant Living Family Church High Desert, offering free legal assistance and access to county and community resources.
Presented in partnership with Abundant Living Family Church High Desert and the High Desert Black Worker Center, the event brings together public agencies and community-based organizations to serve High Desert residents in one convenient location.
The Mobile Defense Program helps expand access to justice by bringing legal services directly into communities throughout San Bernardino County. At the Hesperia event, the Public Defender’s Office will provide record-clearing services, along with mobile court assistance for San Bernardino County cases to help individuals address bench warrants, modify misdemeanor summary probation, re-enroll in court-required classes and resolve outstanding fines.
Additional legal support will be available through San Bernardino Superior Court Self-Help, and Legal Aid Society of San Bernardino, offering assistance with family law, child support, guardianship, landlord-tenant matters, small claims and other civil legal needs.
San Bernardino County departments will also provide healthcare resources, employment services, child support assistance and information about public benefits. Participating departments include Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, San Bernardino County Child Support Services, Human Resources Department and the Transitional Assistance Department.
Community-based organizations, including partners brought together by the High Desert Black Worker Center, will provide workforce empowerment, housing and job readiness support, health and wellness services, reentry programs and other community resources.
The event will be held at Abundant Living Family Church, 17555 Mauna Loa St., in Hesperia. The free event is open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend and connect with available legal, county and community resources.
Registration remains available for record-clearing services. To learn more about this event, or to register, visit PD.SBCounty.gov.
