We would like to thank Anna Duarte of San Bernardino for sharing spectacular photos that showcase another interesting site in San Bernardino County.
Wildwood Canyon State Park offers visitors a chance to experience the natural beauty of the area while enjoying the surrounding wildlife and learning about Yucaipa Valley’s history. The 855-acre park protects part of the original San Bernardino foothills and high desert ecosystem. It also serves as a vital refuge for wildlife, such as mule deer, bobcats, coyotes, mountain lions and black bears.
Wildwood Canyon also has an interesting past. Indigenous peoples once traveled through the area before it became a ranching community. Evidence of that is shown in some of the historic ranch buildings that can be seen throughout the park today. In addition to exploring the park’s natural beauty and history, visitors can also engage in horseback riding, hiking and biking. For more information, visit the California State Parks website.
