San Bernardino County Children and Family Services (CFS) remains dedicated to removing barriers and expanding opportunities for youth in care. The Flexible Family Supports Program (FFS) provides services that ensure youth can access enriching experiences that enhance their growth and well-being. This state-funded program helps youth achieve their educational goals, participate in recreational activities, develop new skills and access essential items.
As we approach the end of 2025, CFS has fully utilized its FFS allocation for fiscal year 2024–2025, serving more than 2,800 foster youth across San Bernardino County. Thanks to the dedication of staff, these funds have provided meaningful experiences, such as cheerleading, football and karate lessons; college tours and summer camps; opportunities to reconnect with relatives over long distances; driving lessons; employment assistance; and much more. Each approved request represents an investment in a youth’s growth, confidence and connection.
In addition to individual support, the FFS program also made a variety of events and programs possible, such as:
- Two Youth Empowerment and Engagement Program (YEEP) Kickoff Events
- Two Caregiver Appreciation Events
- Digital Bridge Program Events
- YEEP Summer Camps
- The Annual Sports Faire
The FFS program has made a significant difference in the lives of foster youth. Every experience funded through FFS, whether big or small, leaves a lasting impact. By expanding opportunities and addressing needs, FFS supports foster youth in growing, thriving and stepping confidently into their futures.
