San Bernardino County Children’s Network held the Inland Empire Fatherhood Summit on May 20 in San Bernardino in recognition of Fatherhood Awareness Month recognizing the important role fathers play in their children’s lives.
The summit is a collaborative effort with Children and Family Services, Inland Empire Fatherhood Involvement Coalition (IEFIC), Watch D.O.G.S. and other community partners to inspire, educate, and equip fathers and father-figures to be actively engaged with their children.
“We want fathers to know they are irreplaceable in their children’s lives and by sharing resources at events like the summit, fathers can connect with services and support in their communities,” said Interim Children’s Network Officer Wendy Alvarez.
Keynote speaker and proclaimed inventor of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Richard Montanez shared his words of encouragement to go after the things you want in life and the importance of a strong support system to an audience of fathers and father-figures of all ages.
