On Oct. 19 at 10:19 a.m., over 750,000 registered San Bernardino County participants joined millions across the nation for the world’s largest earthquake drill.
Each year, the countywide Great ShakeOut effort is led by the San Bernardino County Office of Emergency Services (OES) and coordinated by the San Bernardino County Great ShakeOut Committee, which consists of key personnel from various county departments.
Using the Web Emergency Operations Center (WebEOC) system, OES collects participation information submitted by county departments, agencies, cities and operational area organizations. Participation in the Great ShakeOut exercise ensures that when a disaster strikes, county employees and residents are ready to drop, cover and hold on.
